An experience collector with stories to tell.
I believe my purpose in this lifetime is to collect experiences and discover what I'm made of. I like to write about what I’ve experienced and see what I’ve learned.
I do corporate communications and change management by day, and all the rest of the time, I’m a speaker, writer, amateur astrologer, late-30s divorcée, and ICF-certified life coach.
I’ve written and coached on a lot of topics like independence, personal evolution, and leaps of faith, but the beating heart of my work is living with the courage and faith to build a life on your own terms—a rich, vibrant existence that belongs to you and brings out the truth of who you really are.
I’m a rolling stone, an alley cat, a spinster witch living in the mountains on the west side of town. I’m also a wistful dreamer, a fairy sprite, a cloud witch living in the stubborn insistence that the lives and love we want are possible.
If you, too, are any of these things, suspect you might be, or dream that one day you’ll grow into it, welcome.
I believe things can get better.
I like to help people get there.
Coaching
Practical coaching for life pivots, difficult decisions, and building a life that feels like living.
Lately
A few things I’m reading, writing, making, plotting, pondering, and generally getting myself into.
For Life's Plot Twists
I love a good plot twist. My self-help books are practical companions for when you don’t know what’s next.
Now What?
We’ve all asked this question. It comes in the middle of the night when life has hit us with a one-two punch. Or on a video call, when we realize we just can’t do it anymore,
In Now What?, I share my knowledge about how to answer this middle-of-the-night question with wisdom and practical action.
Comforting, funny, and inspiring, it’s a cheatsheet of what to do when you have no idea what to do next.
This Is So Much Worse Than I Expected
coming later
We’re always told to go after our dreams. To take leaps of faith. But what happens after the jump? When you’re flying through the air, wondering if you’ve just made the biggest mistake of your life? When you realize… “Oh my god, this is so much worse than I expected.”
My alter ego writes smart, funny murder mysteries.
Lydia Lane is the author of the Beach Cocktail Mystery series, a funny mystery series that follows a jilted bride and a gin-soaked divorcée as they encounter various deaths and other crimes at a luxury beach resort.

Mai Tais & Murder
A jilted bride alone on her honeymoon. Hardly what Tessa Tidwell had in mind when she booked a stay at the luxurious Golden Hibiscus Resort. But then, she also wasn’t expecting to discover a body floating in the bay.

Dying for Daiquiris
When a guest’s diamond ring goes missing and Tessa’s favorite bartender is accused of stealing it, her vacation gets decidedly less relaxing. The dead body makes it even less so.

Killer Colada
It’s the Fourth of July at the Golden Hibiscus, but working in a tropical paradise is a lot different than being a guest, as Tessa is quickly discovering. So far, the only redeeming thing about being a Golden Hibiscus employee is that she isn’t the one who just went missing.
“So funny… The characters are amazing. You want to punch several of them over the course of the book and hug others… It kept me guessing!”
“...Refreshing, full of humor, and a great read.”
“Read this book for Sibyl Vine, Tessa’s martini-drinking, caftan-wearing accomplice-slash-mentor. You’ll love her.”
“I loved your writing so much. The banter is EVERYTHING.”
Be Alone with me.
Alone is my weekly column about coddiwompling and the pursuit of wonder and awe. I also write about whatever has captured me lately–usually love, heartbreak, and astrology. If you’re looking for open diaries dressed up as self-help, start here.
“A life that’s made by going your own way is going to look at least a little strange.”
I’m greedy for conversations that change things.
Some conversations carry a strange magic in them. They’re the ones that stop time and make you believe in things you can’t see. I try to have as many of these conversations as possible.
speaking
I have one message: It doesn’t have to be this way.
There is always an alternate path, and I like talking about it. I speak on doubt, destiny, leaps of faith, and how to pay the bills when you’re following your dreams. Every talk comes with honest stories and practical tips on building a life you enjoy immensely.
Coaching
If you don’t know where you’re going next, but you know you can’t stay here, you’re in my favorite place and we should talk. I’ve mastered the Art of Life Transition, which is a euphemism for the universal human experience of “you have no idea what the hell is going on or what you’re going to do next.” My coaching is practical and it’s mystical and I promise it will be interesting.
